Phyllis Avery, President of The Avery Group, is an author, a certified diversity trainer with special emphasis in Women's Issues and a member of the Professional Woman Network (PWN), an international consulting organization specializing in professional and career development.

Mrs Avery is a Qualified Practitioner of the Myers Brigg and Strong Career Interest Inventory. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from High Point University.

Mrs. Avery serves on the Board of Directors for Beauty 4 Ashes International. Professional affiliations include: member of NAFE (National Association of Female Executives), Psi Chi and SIOP (Society for Industrial Organizational Psychologist) and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.

She is a co- author in the upcoming book “ Emotional Wellness for Women Volume III” and her contributing chapter in the work entitled “ Overcoming Good

 

Emotional Wellness for Women III Book Discussion – Overcoming Good Little Girl Syndrome by Co- author Phyllis Avery

Emotional Wellness for Women III was written by twenty-five consultants, coaches and professionals and is third of a 3 volume series on emotional support for women. This much anticipated special edition includes a range of personal topics including:

 “ Overcoming Good Little Girl Syndrome, “ Sink or Swim: The Art of being a Survivor”, “Stop Signs! Ending Abusive Relationships”, and the “ Food Mood Connection”.

The book and book discussions are designed to guide women in their journey to becoming healthy in body, mind, spirit, and emotions.  It is the complete recognition of your full range of feelings, both positive and negative. Emotions are a part of who we are, how we think, our behavior, and what motivates our actions.

Girls Circle specializes in programs built on a research-based model proven to increase girls' self-efficacy, body image, and social support.

The strengths-based, skill building approach used in Girls Circle curriculum creates a safe space for girls to address risky behaviors, build on protective factors, and improve relationships in a format that interests and engages girls.

The camp requires a minimum of 7 participants and a minimum of 10-20 hours.

The courses also encourage young girls to:

 

- Hold on to their voices and stay true to themselves

- Enhance judgment and critical-thinking skills for wise and healthy choices
